My work examines how systems regulate the body and shape what can be spoken, shown, or believed.
Tanya Kaiser (she/her) is a Cleveland-based experimental artist, curator, and educator working in installation, mixed media, and ceramic sculpture. Her practice explores bodily autonomy, religion, censorship, and institutional power, examining how authority is constructed, internalized, and resisted.
Kaiser holds an MFA in Studio Art from Stony Brook University and has over a decade of experience in museum, gallery, nonprofit, and community contexts. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including in Brooklyn, Chicago, Alexandria, and Cleveland. She has taught and mentored undergraduate students and emerging artists in studio, exhibition, and community-based settings.
Alongside her studio practice, Kaiser develops exhibitions, public programs, and interdisciplinary initiatives that connect artists, scholars, and broader publics. She is the founder of Kaiser Studios, an interdisciplinary nonprofit platform that fosters exchange between artists and STEM professionals through residencies, exhibitions, conversations, and collaborative programming.
Her work has been recognized with a Creative Impact Award from Assembly for the Arts and an Impact Award from Ingenuity Cleveland. She serves as Exhibitions Chair and Board Member for the Women’s Caucus for Art, contributing to national exhibition planning and partnerships with academic and cultural institutions.
